Politics at its lowest level

There was so much ho-halla about the editorial by Bal Thakrey, Shiv Shen supremo, in Shamna regarding Sachin Tendulkar’s comment. I still remember the exact words that Tendulkar stated-
“Mumbai belongs to India, this is how I look at it. I am a proud Maharastrian but I am an Indian first.”
I don’t see any problem in this statement, Bal thakrey has criticized his statement and advised Sachin to be away from politics. I fail to understand that from which angle it’s a political Statement. I think 98 out of 100 people will agree with this. Not only this even most of the Maharastrian has got this belief in them that they are proud Maharastrian but an Indian first.
Once the editorial appeared in the “Shamna”, the whole media and politics fraternity was in the disagreement of the comment made by Mr. Thakrey. Even MNS (Maharastra Navnirman Sena), the party that was very much in news for so called “Marathi manus” issue and in the protest of taking ministers oath in any other language than “Marathi”, was not in a position to take a risk by attacking legend like Sachin Tendulkar. Shiv Shena was in a bit of frustration on the “Maratha Manus” issue in the recent past and it has found itself in the wrong time and wrong place after attacking a legend like Sachin.
Everyone knows the integrity Sachin has been maintained during his 20 years cricketing life. As a person & professional, There are millions of people who look up to him. Attacking him in this manner, Shiv Shena has infact lost its plot and it has backfired at it only. It was criticized by almost every quarter of the people and now I think by now even the Shiv Shena must have understood that It was not right to target Sachin on this issue. The party was in isolation on the issue and its party members seemed uncomfortable while facing the media for the response as what is so wrong about the statement that Sachin has made.
I hope the entire episode will give a new dimension on the issue and hopefully Shiv Shena and MNS will look for some constructive and more important issues. There are so many other problems in Maharashtra that must be tackled first. For the time being lets fight with those first and lets not think about these issues.

Sachin Tendulkar: Undoubtly the the best cricketer of the world Cricket

It has been a while since i last wrote on any topic. As we are celebrating 20 years for active cricket for Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, the best batsman India ever has, I want to go back to time when he started his career. I was a kid of age 5-6 years when Tendulkar started playing cricket at the age of 16, a mare 5'3'' of height at that time (now he is 5'5''). I dont recall the initial couple of years when Sachin started his career but 1991 onwards I have followed cricket very closely. There was a time when I use to follow cricket so closely that I use to remember all the statistics of most of the famous International players.
It has been a excellent journey of 20 years and mind you being in the game like Cricket that requires mental and physical fitness at its most, is not an easy task. Its the inner self-belief and determination that this man has that gave him these many years of cricket (hopefully he would be playing another couple of years). Its not easy when One billion people expect you make a century every time you walk in the park and more worse even if you are making a decent 40-50 it is not considered a good score. I still remember those days when Sachin was the sole bearer of the Indian Batting line-up for almost a decade.
Talking about the achievements, He has 87 International Centuries (45 in ODIs & 42 in Test Cricket) along with 17 scores in 90s in ODIs (One Day Internationals). He has played 159 test and 436 ODIs, all figures are records in itself. He was the first batsman to achieve 11000 runs in ODIs and the journey continued till recently when he completed 17000 runs. Only Jayasurya of Sri Lanka and Ponting of Australia are in the race of this record but these two also are almost 3000 and 4000 runs behind of that magic figure. Also we must not forget that Sachin is yet to retire. In Balling also Sachin has 154 wickets in ODIs and 44 wickets in Test cricket. The records of this man is something that any youngster will be looking at. These are the numbers but what truly makes him a great sportsperson is the kind of person he is in daily life. No one can put a figure for any wrong doing about this man. I must say its a tuff task to maintain this kind of integrity for as long as 20 years.
I wish he play at least till the next world cup and India must win this world cup so that this person never regret of not winning the world cup for his team. Ultimately He has given his life to cricket and this country, At least he deserves this much. All the best for coming years and Hopefully by the time he will retire, All the batting records will be with his name.
